The CEC (California Energy Commission) is responsible to update Energy Code every 3 years. The 2022 Energy Code was approved December-2021 with great focus on clean energy and sustainability goals for the California state. Per the new Energy Code new buildings are encouraged to include Solar PV, Energy Storage System (ESS) and electric heat pumps. Any building permit applied after January 01, 2023 has to be inline with the latest Energy Code.

For both commercial and residential buildings sizing guideline for Solar PV and ESS is established enabling new building owners to ensure Title-24 compliance. Compliance approach for Non-residential (commercial) buildings are hereby attached.

The guideline requires building owner to have knowledge on different building features such climate zone, conditioned vs non-conditioned area etc. This could overall add complexity and often leads to an incorrect sizing for Solar PV and ESS.

In order to ensure a smooth building permit process, our team at DSA Renewables has developed a specialized tool that takes into consideration building features and size a Title-24 complaint system size for Solar PV and ESS. In addition to sizing information, our engineers evaluate available products in market and offer the most reliable and cost effective solution to the customer. Our advisors work closely with Owner’s architect and provide one-stop solution for Title-24 compliance.
